1. General


What are printables/ how does it work?

A printable is a PDF file/JPG/PNG that can be edited online and downloaded for a small fee.

You can edit download, (see specific listing for details on editable content) and print instantly from home or with a local copy shop, print shop or online print vendor.

  1. Choose a design from www.makemedigital.shop or makemedigitalstudio.etsy.com and purchase it.
  2. Download the instructions included with your purchase and click on the link provided within the email directly from Templett
  3. Make your changes to the template, save and download the file in your required format
  4. Print at home, at a local print shop or professional online printer. You also have the option of downloading the file and sending it electronically by downloading it as a PNG.

(Your purchased Templett files are stored in your online Templett profile and are there as long as you need them)

Most templates are formatted to print on an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet or A4 and then are trimmed down to size. See the Printing section below for more details.

My templates are fast, user-friendly and affordable! They can be edited and printed repeatedly! (Personal use only)

Will i receive any physical items in the mail?

Nothing will be mailed to you. All of our listings are for digital downloads.

Do i need to be tech savvy to use the templates?

My templates are straight-forward to use, however; I do recommend basic computer knowledge.

2. PURCHASING


HOW ARE THE TEMPLATES DELIVERED?

Following checkout and after your payment has cleared, you can INSTANTLY download your instructions file. If you missed that step, you can easily re-download the file(s);

  • Go to the top right corner of your Etsy page and click on “you” – a dropdown menu will appear.
  • Select “Purchases & Reviews”. Find your purchase, and click the button that reads “Download Files”. (Please note that this MUST be done on a computer, not a mobile phone or iPad).

Around 5 – 10 minutes after purchase, you will receive an email from Templett directly with your access link. (Check your junk email if you have not received it)

HOW MANY TIMES CAN I PRINT THE TEMPLATE?

Once purchased, they are yours to print as many times as you’d like! (Personal use only and not to be distributed).

WHAT CAN I EDIT ON MY TEMPLATE?

Everything is editable. Where not applicable, it will be listed within the specific template description.

You can easily edit the text – change the font, size, edit, move, change color and delete all the text boxes, if required. You can also add your own images easily.

The easiest way to see what is editable and how easy it is, is to try out the demo link provided within the template description.

Can I save my work and come back to it at a later stage?

Once you have purchased your template and clicked the access link to Templett, you may edit and save the template as many times as you wish.

If you are trying out one of the DEMO templates, these are not printable and cannot be saved. You will need to purchase the item to enable these features.

Can I try out my template before buying it?

Yes, I offer DEMO templates on all of my products except envelope liners. The demo templates are listed within the template description under the “Try Before you Buy” heading.

3. Software and use


Do the templates work on pc/ mac computers?

The templates work great on both PC and MAC computers. This MUST be done on a computer, not a mobile phone or iPad. Please make sure that all edits to your template are made in your browser and you save as you go along.

Do I NEED SPECIAL SOFTWARE TO EDIT AND PRINT MY TEMPLATE?

Nope! No special programs are needed, only your web browser and all fonts are embedded into the templates. Easy peasy 🙂

Do I NEED TO INSTALL ANY FONTS?

My templates have the required fonts already embedded within them and do not require you to install any fonts. You will also have access to my entire range of fonts, simply click on the font name in the editing toolbar to try it out.

I don’t have a computer, can I edit on my phone/tablet?

To avoid any formatting/ printing issues, my templates must be edited on a computer. However, if you require assistance with this, please feel free to email Danielle Hamilton at danielle@makemedigital.shop and a custom editing order can be made. Please note that this will be an additional editing fee, and the cost can be found if you search “custom” in the store.

  • For local printing and cutting, we do recommend FedEx Kinkos, Staples, Office Max or a local print shop as they do a nice job for a very reasonable price. If using FedEx Kinkos, please know that they may require a copyright release form prior to printing. Send me a message if you require this and I will provide it to you.

What size paper should I use?

Most templates are formatted to print on an 8.5″ x 11″ & A4 sheets. Simply select this option when you are downloading the template from Templett.

When printing, make sure that the print settings are set to 100% or actual size, the correct paper size that you are feeding into your printer is chosen and that you do a test print before printing in large batches.

What type of paper or cardstock should i use?

I recommend using the templates on at least 100 – 150 GSM card stock – regular copy tends to be too flimsy.

Print shops offer many types of card stocks to choose from. If printing at a local copy shop, ask to see one item printed to make sure that the colors and materials are to your liking.

If you are ordering from an online printer, request for their sample pack prior to ordering your stationery to have a good look a the various paper textures. I personally print stationery on 300 gsm cardstock and I use Tintoretto Gesso and Laid luxury paper stock. This may differ based on your local printer, ask them for their recommendations.

Should I print on my own or at a local print shop?

Printing at home: 

  • Consider the quality of your home printer, how many items you are looking to print and if the printable uses a lot of ink (e.g. picture save the dates will use more ink etc).
  • Make sure to check what the maximum paper thickness is for your printer model – this can be found on your printer manual or by Googling your printer. Paper that is too thick could jam and damage print heads.
  • Templates that are 8.5″ x 11″/A4 and smaller are recommended to be printed at home. Whereas larger paper sizes are best suited to be printed at a copy shop with larger printers.

Printing using a local copy or print shop:

  • If you want to skip the hassle of printing and cutting in large batches, or if you have larger print sizes to print –  a local copy or print shop such as FedEx Kinkos, Staples or Office Max are a great option.
  • They offer printing and cutting at a very reasonable price.
  • If you are printing signage, I recommend ordering designs with foam-ex backing to keep it rigid.

CAN I ADD MY IMAGE/ LOGO TO THE TEMPLATE?

Yes, you can. Please follow the item instructions on how to do this. It is easy 🙂

6. Policies and terms of use


What is your policy on cancellations, returns/ refunds?

Due to the digital nature of our printable templates, there are no returns or exchanges on downloadable items.

WHAT IS YOUR PRIVACY POLICY?

We respect your privacy and do not sell/ share your email or personal information with other companies.

WHAT ARE YOUR TERMS OF USE?

By downloading Make Me Digital’s templates, you agree to the following Terms of Use. This artwork is for personal, non-commercial use only. You cannot sub-license, resell, share, transfer, redistribute or modify in any way.

7. TROUBLESHOOTING


How DO I DOWNLOAD THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM ETSY?

WHAT IS A ZIP FILE?

Zip files are multiple files compressed into one folder. This makes it easier to share or email numerous files.

How to open a ZIP file (PC & MAC): To unzip a file or folder, simply double-click on it.
